Is ChargeXcel certified, and how does it relate to the NEC?

ChargeXcel is certified by CSA Group to UL 916. NEC 220.70 and 625.42(A) contain energy-management provisions that may be used in an installation design. The qualified electrician and local AHJ determine whether a specific installation complies. Review the code information and CSA certificate.

Which EV chargers and vehicles are compatible?

ChargeXcel supports automated physical load shedding for compatible Level 2 EV charging installations. Dynamic load balancing currently supports Tesla vehicles through Tesla's official API. Other EVs receive load shedding today, and compatible dynamic balancing may be added through future updates. Confirm the current application details in the product specifications.

What is the difference between load shedding and dynamic load balancing?

Load shedding pauses the controlled EV charging circuit when demand reaches the configured threshold and restores it when capacity is available. Dynamic load balancing can adjust the charge rate as household demand changes; ChargeXcel currently provides this function for Tesla through its official API.

How is ChargeXcel configured and where is it installed?

ChargeXcel is configured through a local phone or browser web interface over 2.4 GHz Wi-Fi. It is installed near the electrical panel inside the junction box specified by the installation requirements. Installation must be completed by a licensed or qualified electrician. See the installation manual.

What do ChargeXcel partners receive?

What warranty comes with ChargeXcel?

ChargeXcel 60 includes a two-year limited warranty from the date of shipment, subject to the published warranty terms and exclusions. The warranty covers qualifying defects in materials and workmanship and does not replace proper installation or code compliance.
